The oldest local mining church was established in close promixity to the first miners` settlement named Kirchlice, about which references in writing date back to as early as 1331. In the 1576 – 1624 period the church served for protestants. It was gradually reconstructed starting from 1624 as it had been destroyed during the Thirty Years`War. It was completed in 1676. From 1891 no public access was allowed. The church interior burnt out completely during a fire in 1939. A partial renewal of the structure took place in 1995. Opposite the church you can find a memorial devoted to victims of death march in 1945 – see item 9.
