Our Lady Ascension Church, Lake and Borderland Oak in Cínovec

A Baroque church dating back to the 1729 – 1733 period. It is surrounded by a cemetery with interesting history. On 8 May 1945 the Soviet Army went through the area when going to Prague to support Prague Uprising. In 2005 an oak was planted there to replace the original borderland oak which oak had marked the frontier between Saxony and the Czech Kingdom. The original oak had to be removed due to construction of a new road. In the church vicinity the visitors can use cross country skiing routes as well as a lake, in which one can bathe during summer season.
